Restart, Back on the Whole30 Train

by Run Fast Mama on February 1, 2013

I spent the first part of January with an awful cold.  The second part of the month was better, but I still have coughing and congestion and just well, feel crappy.  I don’t feel how I felt in December when I did my first Whole 30 and I want that feeling of health back.  I have had several failed attempts at Whole30 the past two weeks.

Why did I fail? I put it out there here and there, but like my friend Jen told me during the first Whole30, go big or go home.  Putting Whole 30 out there here and there did nothing really for accountability.  You guys, my blog readers kept me accountable last time.  Knowing that I told the world, through my blog, that I was doing Whole30 gave me the motivation and strength to push through and ignore the cravings.  It gave me the gift of feeling amazing.

So, as we start this new month, I am putting it out there.  I will not fail, I need to get rid of this congestion and lack of energy.  I have done it before, and I know that with everyone’s help and support I can do it again.  I need to and as they say…

Thanks! I felt amazing after I finished too and really wish I would have just kept certain foods and wine out of my life for good. I might have to extend this one past the 30 day mark to ensure the changes stick this time and my cravings are gone for good.

I hear ya! It totally starts with food and we are trying to change a lot of the bad habits we have in our kitchen to good ones. I did slip up last night and had, dare I say it, McDonalds. But I’m back on track today and moving forward. You’ll get back to where you were before in no time! And that nasty cold will be a thing of the past!

Each day at a time I say! I did it before and this blog really makes me feel a ton more accountable for my actions and goals.
Thank you so much for your support!

Wow, another Whole30 so fast? Awesome motivation, Lisa! :)
I am not doing Whole30 strict (since butter is a big staple lol), but mostly paleo seems to be the way to go. I have added rice back this week to see how I feel, since I’ve upped my workouts to 4-5x a week, I know I struggle with eating enough. So far, no issues, but still have to find that happy place!

Yea, I just need the strict black or white rules in my life now. I was amazed how well my body handled the 136 miles of running I did in Dec and the Goofy Challenge where I was still pretty whole30 but not 100%. After Goofy Challenge just let things go a bit and feel crappy so for me this is a way to get rid of all the congestion and get my energy where it needs to be for running plus Insanity. I want to be much faster this year and need to fuel my body with things that make it happy :)
